Driving the future of Manufacturing: Core insights from Manufacturing IT Summit

At the recent Manufacturing IT Summit in Mumbai, we at Plat4mation had the opportunity to demonstrate how manufacturers can unlock new levels of productivity, customer satisfaction and operational resilience with the help of ServiceNow and our extensive industry expertise.

Let’s highlight the key moments from our presentation including an overview of our manufacturing solutions, our proven track record within the ServiceNow ecosystem and real-world success stories that prove transformation is not just possible—it’s already happening.

Manufacturing is changing fast

Digital transformation was supposed to make everything easier. But for a lot of manufacturers, it’s done the opposite—leaving them with too many disconnected tools, slow insights, and teams that aren’t on the same page.

ServiceNow can help cut through the chaos and bring front, middle and back-office teams together with smart automation, AI agents, and workflows that are made for manufacturing.

A platform built for manufacturing

What really sets ServiceNow apart is how it brings everything together by connecting messy processes into one clear system while making automation and self-service easy to scale.

It has standout capabilities, including:

  • End-to-End order-to-cash automation: handles orders and invoice issues, cutting down cycle times and lowering costs.
  • Dealer & channel enablement: makes life easier for dealers with a single portal for self-service, claims, and tech support.
  • Customer & agent empowerment: helps both agents and customers solve problems faster with AI-powered tools, leading to higher satisfaction scores.
  • Manufacturing-specific workflows: manages warranties, recalls, predictive maintenance and tracking skills. We’ve got pre-built workflows that are ready to use right away.

On top of that, the platform includes advanced AI agents, generative AI, and predictive analytics, which allows teams to spend less time on repetitive tasks and more time focusing on what really matters.

A proven transformation approach

True transformation doesn’t happen in isolation. That’s why we recommend a pilot-first model:

  1. Pilot in a single plant using a limited asset base and out-of-the-box workflows.
  2. Validate business value, governance model, and user adoption.
  3. Create enterprise templates for assets, org charts, and RACI models.
  4. Roll out at scale with up to five plants in parallel, supported by a central team.

This structured approach accelerates time to value while ensuring quality and consistency across the network.

Customer success stories

Here’s a closer look at three standout success stories to learn how some of the world’s most innovative manufacturers are transforming their operations with ServiceNow

ASML: gaining full control over 10,000+ OT assets

A global leader in semiconductor equipment, ASML, faced the challenge of managing tens of thousands of operational technology (OT) assets with limited visibility and governance. To address this, we built a centralized OT CMDB, established clear asset ownership and lifecycle governance, and implemented automated workflows and dashboards. As a result, ASML now operates with a single source for OT assets, helping them improve system uptime, respond to issues faster, and stay ahead of cybersecurity risks.

Heineken: brewing smarter with global OT visibility

Heineken, with more than 175 breweries around the world, was looking for a better way to manage its OT inventory and gain real-time visibility into its industrial operations. We helped by setting up a self-healing OT CMDB integrated with Microsoft defender and Sentinel, adding role-based access controls to strengthen compliance, and creating easy-to-use dashboards to track assets and device types in real time. Now, Heineken operates on a global basis. This gives them the flexibility, control, and insights to make smarter decisions and respond quickly across all their locations.

Merck: achieving full OT compliance and audit readiness

Operating across more than 150 plants, Merck faced the challenge of implementing robust OT lifecycle management to meet strict regulatory and audit standards. To address this, we introduced the ServiceNow’s full OT management suite, integrated it with Claroty and Tenable for real-time risk monitoring, and implemented lifecycle and compliance tracking using IRM tools. As a result, Merck now maintains full control over its OT environment, successfully meeting compliance demands while positioning its operations for the future.
